Postal Questions

Q. What are the tabbing/wafer sealing requirements for automation compatible letter size pieces?
A. The fold configuration (and if the mail piece is stitched) determines the number of tabs needed.

  • Fold at the bottom with open top – single tab
  • Fold at the top with open bottom – double tab
  • Stitched Booklet – three tabs ( 2 on leading edge; one on trailing edge)
  • Perforated tabs are not an acceptable closure method.
